Novastep Launches Airlock Plating System

June 24, 2015

June 24, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Novastep, Inc., and its affiliates (“Novastep” or the “Company”), a global medical device company specializing in the foot and ankle, today announced the U.S. launch of its Airlock MTP Locking Plate System.

The first case in North America was conducted by Aaron J. Shemenski, DPM, FACFAS at Morton Hospital in Taunton, MA.  Dr. Shemenski stated that “Airlock has already established itself with an impressive track record in Europe and features a number of versatile advances, coupled with a sleek instrumentation platform, that enable effective treatment of MTP joint pathologies.”  Among its advanced features, the plate allows simultaneous usage of locking and non-locking screws to facilitate reduction, compression and fixation of the 1st MTP joint in optimal position for arthrodesis.  Airlock’s proprietary design includes 10⁰ of phalangeal valgus, a low, tendon-sparing profile that mitigates the threat of soft tissue compromise and a plantar screw evasion matrix.

The Airlock Plating System, along with other Novastep product lines will be exhibited this week during the Western Foot and Ankle Conference in Anaheim, CA at Booth No. 817.  Follow Novastep live on Twitter @InfoNovastep.
